Several students participated in the science fair on campus. Photography:

Squad Goals-A1

Although the background is dark, the subjects are visible and are focused. The picture is a nice action shot that is in good quality. The rule of composition is rule of thirds because the main cheerleader is not in the center. Instead is off to one side, however is the main subject. This could also show balance. The cheerleaders are the main subjects. Yes, the photo is exposed properly. I see a bit of depth of field because the football players are visible, however come out a bit blurry.

Training to be the Best-B2

Although the photo is black and white the subject is visible and well focused. The lighting was good because there was equal distribution. Noting was too dark or too light/washed. The subjects determined, focused face goes well with the story because the story mentions Dawson's hard work and improvements. The rule of composition is viewpoint because of the angle the photo was taken at. The main subject is Dawson Warken. Yes, the photo was exposed properly. I see evidence of deep depth of field.

Practice Makes Perfect-B7

Although this photo is black and white the lighting was well displayed. The photograph also grabbed the readers attention by its size which had an impact on the page. It impacts the story because it relates with the topic, how Matthew continues to practice his yo-yo. The rule of composition is simplicity because there is nothing in the background. The main subject is the yo-yo. The photo is exposed properly. This photo shows evidence of a shallow depth of field.

On the Beam-A8

Although the photograph is an action shot, it is still well focused. The lighting is well distributed and the quality of the picture look sharp. The composition rule is viewpoint because the angle in which the picture was taken from is from one side. The gymnast is the main subject. Yes, it is exposed properly. There is evidence of a deep depth of field.

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun(damental Human Rights)-B8

The lighting is good in this photograph because the subject is still visible and does not look washed. The impact of the photo on the page is great because the draws the readers' attention and it shows what the story is about. The composition rule is balance because the subject and the sign are even on both sides. The main subject is a protester. The photo is exposed properly. I see evidence of shallow depth of field.

If you were a photographer on staff, which event/photo assignment would you have liked to do for this issue? You will need to look through the entire paper and see the topics covered and decide which one you think would have been fun.
I would have liked to do the Senior experiences the ride of her life page/story because I think I would of had a blast taking pictures of the horse and maybe even riding the horse.
Overall, how would you rate the photography in this issue? What were the strong points and weak points, write 2-3 sentences.
I would rate the photography in this issue as a 3/5. The strong parts were that they were well focused, but the weak points are that the quality of the photographs were not all that great and in some photos, the lighting should of been more evenly distributed.
